Five Gold Rings {Christmas Wreaths}

Today we get to share one of our own projects with you… this is the one that inspired the entire series! I like to switch out the decor for my huge chalkboard every holiday, so what better place to display five new gold wreaths?
I love how these “gold rings” turned out! Each wreath is unique but they are all very festive. {And each one cost $5 or less to complete!}
Supplies used:
  • Gold spray paint
  • 10″ styrofoam wreath form {Target dollar spot}
  • 8″ grapevine wreaths {Dollar Tree}
  • Glitter mistletoe ornaments {Dollar Tree}
  • Gold pinecone ornaments {Dollar Tree}… I seriously went to this store 4 times in 3 days!
  • 6″ embroidery hoop
  • jingle bells {medium size}
  • 2 packages of clothespins
  • Glitter cardstock
  • Gold sequin fabric {from JoAnn’s – $3.00 for 1/2 yard with sale & coupon}
  • hot glue gun & glue
All of the wreaths are really simple to make, so I am just giving a quick photo tutorial for each one:
1. Clothespin wreath {$4}
Cut a 4″ circle out of the glitter cardstock, spray paint all the clothespins gold, then attach them around the edge of the cardstock. {I didn’t glue anything on this one!}
2. Mistletoe wreath {$5}
Spray paint the grapevine wreath, then attach mistletoe ornaments in a circle pattern with hot glue.
3. Sequined wreath {$5}
Cut your sequined material into strips – I counted 10 sequins wide for each strip. Then wrap and secure each strip of fabric with hot glue until the entire wreath is covered. This one is so simple, but it is my favorite!
4. Pinecone wreath {$4.50}
Spray paint the wreath gold, cut all the strings off the ornaments and then attach them with hot glue. Make sure the next pinecone in line is covering the ornament hanger of the previous one, so there is one continuous loop of pinecones! Love this one too.
5. Jingle bell wreath {$4.50}
Okay, okay, this one might be my favorite! It was so easy! Take a 6″ embroidery hoop, spray paint it gold, then attach the jingle bells one at a time with hot glue. At the bottom of the hoop, glue on a sparkly gold bow ornament {I already had this on hand but they have them at the dollar store} to cover up the hardware.
I used a pretty beaded garland to string all of the wreaths together and hung them up on my chalkboard. I had to add the song lyrics just for fun!
 The best part about all of these wreaths is that you could make them on a larger scale and use them individually as your front door decoration or over a mantel. But I have to say, I’m liking them all together…

Thanks for following along with our 12 Days of Christmas Series! Each day for the next few weeks, we will be sharing a creative holiday craft or gift idea that has been inspired by the lyrics of the song, “Twelve Days of Christmas.”  Some of our favorite bloggers are joining in, and we can’t wait for you to see what they have in store!

    Love the 5 golden rings! I couldn’t imagine displaying them separately, they have so much more impact all together…and the chalkboard saying brings it all together perfectly! Happy Holidays! Looking forward to the rest of the days!
