We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints otherwise known as “The Mormons”. We are proud of this part of who we are! We are excited to team up with over 65+ of us strong… to extend an invitation to see a film. A film entitled Meet the Mormons. This film is not meant to be an “in your face” – you must join our church film. It is simply designed and produced to uplift and inspire you through six stories of those of our faith who have followed promptings to follow Christ more fully in their lives. We hope you take the opportunity to enjoy this . We hope your hearts are made light as you feel the goodness that comes from following our Christ and Savior. All proceeds from the film will be donated to The American Red Cross. So not only will you be uplifted and inspired, your money will be going to an amazing charity!!

We also would like to take a moment and share our personal testimonies, stories of our own personal conversions, and our own stories of how following our Savior, Jesus Christ has changed our lives. The light of the gospel of Jesus Christ offers a joy and hope that only following him can provide. We hope as you click through and read our stories and testimonies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you will feel uplifted and encouraged. We are by you! We love connecting with our readers, that is why many of us do what we do! Please be kind and considerate in your comments. It takes great bravery for us to open our hearts and our mouths to share with you such a tender and personal part of who we are. We share because we feel strongly the need to share the peace and the hope that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hi! It’s Nat. You might have seen a flood of photos, quotes, Instagram or Facebook posts over the past weekend as members of the LDS church gathered world-wide to listen to inspired messages during a General Conference. One of the speakers addressed what those not of our faith might wonder about how excited and eager we are to share what we know with those around us:

“When we invite you to attend church with us or to learn with the full-time missionaries, we are not trying to sell you a product…we do not receive prizes or bonus points in a heavenly contest. We are not seeking simply to increase the numerical size of the Church. And most importantly, we are not attempting to coerce you to believe as we do. We are inviting you to hear the restored truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ so you can study, ponder, pray, and come to know for yourself if the things we are sharing with you are true.

come-and-see

Some of you may respond, “But I already believe in Jesus and follow His teachings,” or “I am not sure if God really exists.” Our invitations to you are not an attempt to diminish your religious tradition or life experience. Bring all that you know is true, good, and praiseworthy—and test our message. Just as Jesus beckoned two of His disciples to “come and see” (John 1:39), so we urge you to come and see if the restored gospel of Jesus Christ enlarges and enriches that which you already believe to be true.” (Elder David A. Bednar, “Come and See”)

Holly and I haven’t talked much about our beliefs here. Our readers have meant so much to us, and maybe we have been worried we might offend someone. My hope in sharing this today is that you will know that we feel strongly about sharing this because it is something that brings hope, peace, and joy into our lives. The standards that I choose to live, the relationship I have with my Savior Jesus Christ, and the things I have come to know for myself have blessed my life immensely. So why wouldn’t I want to share that joy? I know that I have a Father in Heaven who knows me personally, who cares about my life, and who answers my prayers – even when I’m not perfect and they may be prayers of desperation. I have learned for myself that He is always there. My testimony may be small and simple. I don’t always have all the answers or know where to find them in the scriptures. But I know that He is helping me every day to be better. To forgive myself and others. To try harder and not give up when I fail. I invite you to ask – come and see- if there’s anything you’d like to know. Mormon.org is a great place to start – with lots of answers to questions and resources (such as a copy of the Book of Mormon) available. And you can ask us! My hope is that this will be a starting point in us sharing more about who we are with all of you. – Nat
